Collection of Personal Information
To access select ICC sites and/or services, you will be asked to log in using a valid e-mail address and password, herein referred to as identification. In some cases, this identification may be part of a network of ICC services. This means you can use the same identification and log in to different ICC sites and/or services. As a component of creating your identification, you may be asked to provide questions and secret answers, which will be used to verify your identity and aid in resetting your password, along with an alternate e-mail address.

On some ICC sites and/or services, you may be requested to provide personal information in the form of name, address, e-mail address or telephone number. In addition, we may also collect demographic information such as zip/postal code, and industry type. Should you choose to purchase or sign up for paid subscriptions, products and/or services, we will ask for additional information such as credit card number, and billing/shipping address to create an account. Credit card information is not kept or otherwise stored on ICC commerce systems or web systems.

ICC may collect information regarding your visit, including but not limited to the pages viewed and the links clicked. Standard information will be collected, which internet browsers send to every web site you visit, such as IP address, browser type and language, access times and referring web site addresses. The information collected by ICC is done so in an anonymous manner and not linked to specific individual users who can be identified. Our statistical data collection is anonymous and used to detect general patterns in site usage.

When you receive info letters, promotional e-mails, and such from ICC, we may use web beacons or similar technologies. These web beacons will enable ICC to ascertain whether info letters and e-mails have been opened and which links were clicked on to provide you with more focused e-mail communications and other information. Web beacons allow ICC to determine how many links are clicked, and not the specific user. Click usage and link usage is not associated to individual users, but a tool to aid in general analysis. Third parties are prohibited from using web beacons from our sites to collect or access your personal information. Users are provided with the choice to opt out of any e-mail communication on any e-mail list ICC obtains.

Use of Personal Information
ICC collects and uses personal information in order to manage and improve its web site and deliver services or perform transactions you may have requested. Uses of personal information include: providing more effective customer service; creating web sites that are easier to navigate; creating online services that are more user-friendly through elimination of entering redundant information; performing research targeted at improving products and/or services and technologies; and displaying advertising content customized to your interests.

ICC also uses the personal information you provide to communicate with you. We may send communications such as billing reminders, and information on technical updates. Occasionally, you may receive promotional mailings and surveys to inform you of other products and/or services available from ICC. These communications will provide you with the opportunity to opt out should you wish not to receive them in future.

Personal information collected on ICC sites and/or services may be stored and processed in Canada, United States or any other country where ICC maintains facilities. By using an ICC site and/or service, you are consenting to any such transfer of information outside of your country.

Sharing of Personal Information
Unless described in this privacy policy, ICC will not divulge your personal information outside of the company without your prior express written consent. We will not disclose information that you provide to us through the use of ICC sites and/or services to vendors, distributors, third parties or any other external source without first consulting you. Nor will we sell, lease, or rent, in part or in whole, any of your personal information to external parties.

ICC may access and/or disclose your personal information if we believe such activity is justified for: (a) compliance with law(s) and/or legal proceeding(s) served on ICC; (b) protection and defense of the rights and/or properties of ICC; or (c) action during critical situations for the protection and safety of ICC site and/or service users or the public.

Accessing Your Personal Information
You may have the option to edit and/or view your personal information online. A required component will be to have you log in using your identification. Please see below for access to ICC sites and services. www.thecompliancecenter.com – There is no need to sign in.
courseware.compliancecenter.com courseware.compliancecenter.com - If you have a web-based training account, you can log in by selecting your course and entering your identification or company  access code.
www.iccshop.com www.iccshop.com – If you are registered on ICCShop, you can edit your information by signing in as an affiliate or customer and providing your login and password.

Security of Personal Information
ICC The Compliance Center Inc. is committed to the security and confidentiality of the personal information you provide to us. At ICC, there are various tools and processes we employ in protecting your personal information from illegal access, use, or disclosure. If transmitting sensitive information such as credit card numbers or passwords, ICC uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol in safeguarding your information. No person, who has made purchases through ICCShop using SSL, has reported fraudulent use of their credit card resulting from an online purchase with ICC.

For your protection, never put your credit card number in an unencrypted e-mail. In an unlikely event that we suspect a customer's credit card number has been intercepted, ICC will notify the customer immediately. When a password is issued to help safeguard your account and personal information, it is your responsibility to keep the password confidential. ICC does not share any personal information with parties external to the company, except as described under Sharing of Personal Information in this privacy policy. Also, passwords must be hard to guess, non-obvious, confidential and changed on a regular basis, and you must log out at the end of each session. You are solely responsible and liable for any use and misuse of your login name and password and for all activities that occur under your login name and password. You must ensure that all uses of your login name and password comply with this policy. Should you be on a shared computer, always choose to logout/logoff prior to leaving a site or service in order to protect any access to your personal information by subsequent users.

Use of Cookies
ICC sites and/or services periodically use “cookies” that enable you to log in to some services and tailor your online experience. These cookies are used solely for internal applications. Cookies are small text files placed on your hard disk by a webpage server. They are temporary files and are removed from your browser once the session is over. These cookies never reveal personal information and are generally used to improve the functionality of our web sites and ease of use for the browser. Cookies do not run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.

The cookies used on ICC's sites are for storing your preferences and other information on your computer. This eliminates the need to enter redundant data, and displays personalized content and relevant advertising on subsequent visits.

Accepting or declining cookies is based on your preferences. The majority of web browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can modify your Internet preferences to decline cookies. When cookies are disabled, you may be unable to log on or use some features of ICC sites and/or services that rely on the use of cookies. Using cookies, when accepted simply enhances the user experience and never used for tracking purposes.
Unsolicited E-mails and Spam
such as Gooey™ or Third Voice™ in connection with your use of ICC sites and/or services, or to post comments, communications, or any other data of any kind to or on the web sites with the intention that such postings may be viewed by other users of the web sites.

You may not use technologies
ICC The Compliance Center Inc. does not accept or consider unsolicited ideas, including ideas for new advertising campaigns, new promotions, new and/or improved goods, services or technologies, product enhancements, processes, materials, marketing plans, and/or new product names. The purpose of this policy is to avoid potential misunderstandings or disputes. Accordingly, please do not send any unsolicited ideas, suggestions or other materials, herein referred to as “submissions,” to ICC The Compliance Center or its web sites.

If you send submissions to ICC The Compliance Center Inc. and/or its web sites, you automatically grant (or warrant that the owner of the submissions grants) to ICC The Compliance Center Inc. and its assigns a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, unrestricted, non-exclusive, worldwide, assignable, sub-licensable, right and license to use, copy, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display and otherwise exploit the submissions or any ideas, concepts, know-how or techniques associated with the submissions for any purpose whatsoever, commercial or otherwise, in part or in whole, using any form, media or technology now known or later developed, without providing compensation to you or any other person, without any liability whatsoever, and free from any obligation of confidence or other duties on the part of ICC The Compliance Center Inc. or its assigns, and you agree, represent and warrant that all moral rights in the submissions are waived in favor of ICC The Compliance Center Inc. and its assigns.
